Happy New Year, Aven’Curieux!

Before diving into the events and news that the destination has in store for us in 2022, I wanted to look in the rearview mirror. Events, prizes, labels, birthdays, influencers, festivals punctuated the tourist season in Grand Châtellerault. And this, despite health constraints. A look back at the highlights…


January
Grand Châtellerault begins the year in the spotlight. France 3 highlights the Pinail reserve, the Chitré mill, the Moulière forest and Passion Nature Garden in South-West Cape while Petit Fûté Vienne gives pride of place to Châtellerault, Angles-sur-l'Anglin and La Roche-Posay in its new edition.

FEBRUARY
After two years of work, the Tourist Office obtained the Quality Tourism brand with a score of more than 90%. The Tourist Information Offices of Dangé-Saint-Romain and Lencloître host exhibitions as part of the operation I exhibit an art craftsman initiated by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts. On the blog, Vienne Nature tells me what its 5 favorite trees in Grand Châtellerault.

MARS
Arrival of destination magazine and the 2021 address book of #ChatelleraultTourisme: two invitations to take the time… On the blog, I am delighted to welcome my Belgian colleague Iris whose escapades complete my adventures as ambassador of Grand Châtellerault.

APRIL
Long live spring! The Envigne valley perpetuates the tradition of growing asparagus while I go to observe the kestrel and the kingfisher with the Bird Protection League in  Chatellerault then Coussay les Bois.

EVER
The Grand Châtellerault Tourist Office is forming a partnership with the SNCF to help you discover the region's gems to the rhythm of the TER. Immediate boarding on line 11! Tourism in Vienna selects Garden Passion Nature et Atlantic Center Hot Air Balloon for his Expériences Famille. On the occasion of May by bike, I have the chance to collect the good tips from the champion Sylvain Chavanel who lives in Colombiers.

June
As part of the Qualité Tourisme brand, the Tourist Office obtains the highest ranking for reception and information, 1 categoryBruno Maltor, elected “Best Travel Influencer” at the Travel d’Or, stays in Vienne and flashes on Angles-sur-l'Anglin among the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”. The events are resuming: there are the Rendez-vous aux Jardins, the European Night of Museums, the Country Heritage and Mills Days… In this regard, the Chitré Mill of Vouneuil-sur-Vienne is inaugurating a Tourist Information Office, new for summer 2021.

JULY
Let's go for more than 200 free summer activities in Grand Châtellerault, from bistro tavern to sunset walks and stand-up paddle outings. It is also the month of birthdays: the Pinail nature reserve blows out its 40 candles a little late while the Dovecote of the Perron celebrates its 20th anniversary. New : O'Sofa sets up his campsite-bar-lounge at the Crémault park in Bonneuil-Matours and MasterChef Ludovic Dumont takes the reins of The Worker, food and natural wines in Availles-en-Châtellerault.

AUGUST
The green Line Sylvain Chavanel is celebrating 20 years of its development on the old railway line between Châtellerault and Loudun. During his stay in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the influencer and travel photographer Loïc Lagarde have fun with the photogenic nature of the village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin. In Oyré, Laëtitia and Lucas open their restaurant called Local. Its concept: from farm to fork. A whole program for short circuits!

SEPTEMBER
Swing Bike and Peas, the European Heritage Days and the Les Vacances de Monsieur Haydn festival brighten up the start of the school year. The Horse Post des Ormes is one of the 100 monuments selected for the Heritage Loto. In Châtellerault, Sylvain Raveau receives the title of master pastry chef. La Manu shines brightly on the cover of the monthly Image Hunter thanks to the magnificent photo of the Instagrammer @zyeutez.

OCTOBER
The Pinail reserve is officially recognized wetland of global interest thanks to the Ramsar label. The Tops of Tourism in Vienna reward Bellinda and François Garden Passion Nature for their unforgettable silvotherapy sessions. The festival Jazzellerault makes its return to the great pleasure of music lovers, just like the umbrellas of Pink October in the streets of Grand Châtellerault.

NOVEMBER
On the occasion of the Telethon and from the Châtellerault aerodrome, Rémi Ouvrard and his father Jean-Daniel break their own world record for the highest altitude for a man standing on a hot air balloon, reaching 4016 meters. Like every third weekend in November, Angles-sur-l'Anglin is adorned with Red and Gold in order to guide visitors to the workshops of artists and craftsmen.

DECEMBER
From December 1st to 24th, the Grand Châtellerault Advent calendar perpetuates the magic of Christmas every day for young and old: carriage rides, lantern walks, illuminated windows, decorated shop windows, workshop visits... In points of interest organ: the Solstice de la Glisse on the La Manu site and Brian Joubert's demonstration at the La Forge ice rink.

In 2022, I'm already looking forward to seeing you on April 2 and 3 at the Poitiers exhibition center for the Proxi’Loisirs lounge. The #ChâtelleraultTourisme team tells me that they have many surprises in store for us to (re)discover the territory of Grand Châtellerault.
