Splash, splash! In the Bordeleau family, I ask…
My two sons and their father swear by aquatic pleasures. Swimming spots, canoeing and other watercraft no longer hold any secrets for me in Grand Châtellerault!
If you are also part of the Bordeleau team, let yourself be tempted by my selection of 6 summer activities…
1. Take control of an electric boat
In Cenon-sur-Vienne, the mini port appeals to all generations by offering authentic timeless interludes every summer afternoon. No need for a permit for a relaxing stroll on the Vienne. And what a pleasure to be at the helm of these silent machines!
On board, I like to observe the fauna, flora and fishermen in action. What I prefer: maneuvering smoothly to pass under the bridge.
My advice :
Arrive at the Forclan point from the end of the morning to picnic on site and thus be among the first to rent a boat (boarding in order of arrival, no reservation possible).
2. Swim in white water
Lésigny-sur-Creuse has acquired a recreation area with games for children, volleyball court, picnic tables and small sandy beach.
This corner of nature nicknamed “The end of the bridge” has a taste of rediscovered freedom. Highlight of this outing: natural swimming in the river.
My advice : In 2024, prefer the period from July 12 to August 31 because swimming will be supervised there.
3. Embark on an unusual river trip
Captain Desmurs welcomes you on his traditional boat, a toue cabanée called John Martin. Depending on the thematic walk chosen, children, nature, sea shanties or even local products are in the spotlight.
We fell in love with the comments thanks to which we leave knowing the history of the river and the people of Châtelleraud.
Departure from the factory canal in Châtellerault or the mini-port in Cenon-sur-Vienne
My advice : If you like sunsets, choose evening walks to admire the landscapes enhanced by a burning sky.
4. Slide down a giant water slide
From July 1 to August 31, 2024, the forest lake in Châtellerault becomes “the place to be”. The star ? The AquaSlide, an inflatable structure for 63 meters of thrilling sliding!
You can continue with stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, beach volleyball, racket games, archery, climbing, electric scooters... The less adventurous will prefer the joys of the beach: swimming, relaxing and sandcastles on the program.
My advice : Consider registering children for the many recreational and cultural activities !
5. Enjoy a sandy beach in the shade of the trees
Le Crémault park in Bonneuil-Matours offers a bucolic setting by the river. Facing the Vienne, I spread my towel on the fine sand.
Let's go for a day of relaxation and reading, while keeping an eye on Arthur in the little bath. But don't worry, swimming is supervised from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m. in July and August. Hugo has fun diving from the pontoon while waiting for the session stand-up paddle with his father.
At the end of the afternoon, the whole family gets together for a game of mini-golf.
My advice : Treat yourself to the lounge bar offered by Bon'oeil Guinguette. Waffles, cocktails, aperitif boards can be enjoyed nestled in sofas. Perfect for disconnecting from everyday life!
6. Go down the river by canoe
The Vienne, the Creuse, the Anglin, the Gartempe… These rivers of Grand Châtellerault invite you to discover the heritage, the fauna and the flora in a different way. A unique point of view.
Play sports, cool off, contemplate... Everything is possible in a canoe kayak!
