We have tested for you the charming cottage of Petites Minaudières located in Saint-Sauveur. Nestled in the heart of the the countryside, this cottage offers much more than seasonal accommodation, it is a real Safe Haven in which we feel directly at home.
Our arrival at the accommodation
After a pleasant walk through the picturesque countryside, we finally reach the lodge, and as soon as we arrive, we are captivated! A winding path guides us to a magnificent building with exposed stone walls. We immediately understand why this accommodation bears the title of “charming cottage”! I am already transported and captivated by the splendor of the place!
Warmly welcomed by Madame Butruille, the owner, we are pleasantly surprised by the generous size of this gîte. 160 square meters ! Upstairs, three spacious bedrooms await us, offering us a difficult choice... Nestled in the heart of nature, our only company for the weekend will be the forest and the pond. This promises a real disconnection...
Our program
As I explore the various services offered, I am amazed to see that we even have the opportunity to try our hand at gardening for a weekend, thanks to vegetable garden made available to us. And I am sure that this summer, it will be impossible for us to resist the attraction of this magnificent private in-ground pool !
For lunch, how about tasting local products? There commune of Senillé-Saint-Sauveur is full of producers, and the owner is kind enough to prepare a welcome basket for her guests. What a delicate touch! This makes us want to light the barbecue without further delay! We then spend a relaxing afternoon in the deckchairs, under the shaded terrace. Our playful spirit resurfaces for a game of ping-pong, which I win. Could this be a sign that this idyllic weekend is warding off bad luck?
Later in the day we find that the lodge is also suitable for winter evenings ; we already imagine ourselves relaxing near the chimney with a good book or around a board game. For the youngest, the gîte accommodation also offers entertainment such as a trampoline, swings, tree houses, perfect for families.
At sunset we enjoy the freshness of the forest and the sweetness of summer evenings to walk in the woods on the property. On our way, we even had the chance to see a deer, as if she was surprised to find us here, on her territory!
The next day, after a peaceful night in almost unreal silence, we enjoyed a breakfast consisting of crushed from Poitou and jam from our welcome basket. We spend the morning fishing in the estate's pond, hoping to catch our lunch! In the afternoon, it is with slight regret that we leave the lodge.
This stay at the lodge was a real penchanted arenthesis, less than an hour from Futuroscope and Tours. It is the place ideal for families. Located in Grand Châtellerault, you will have access to a multitude of tourist sites just 10 minutes from the gîte: museums, nature reserves, spas and theaters will be within your reach.
This Sunday evening, it is with nostalgia that we return to our respective apartments, promising each other to return to Grand Châtellerault in the weeks to come to discover new local treasures!
