1 Four days of roaming by bike
The Tour of Grand Châtellerault
Let's go for a memorable hike to discover the hidden gems of the territory. On the program: 189 kilometers in 3 or 4 days, depending on whether you are sporty, a beginner or with children.

After a first step at Le Grand Atelier museum from Châtellerault in order to learn everything about the history of the cycle, the explorer mounts his horse heading south to follow the soothing banks of Vienne to Cenon, Vouneuil, Bonneuil... The journey begins gently along the water.
The Creuse, the Gartempe and the Anglin also punctuate the journey, winding through preserved and sparsely inhabited valleys.
We love the section around La Roche-Posay, hilly and far from traffic, as much as the bucolic Ligne Verte, an old railway line redeveloped into a cycle path.
During this tour of Grand Châtellerault by bike, I discovered the bivouac and very different atmospheres. Usually, I'm a fan of jogging. But I wanted something new and to explore the department more widely. In less than 20 minutes, the TER dropped me off at Châtellerault station. From the saddle of my little queen, I was able to soak up the landscapes and stop at my leisure to visit. A local tourism experience with the sensations of adventure…

Some villages are favorites to become the favorites of the curious. Our must-sees: Angles-sur-l’Anglin, ranked among the most beautiful in France, Saint-Rémy-sur-Creuse and its troglodyte cliff, Les Ormes and its heritage that would make more than a large city pale…
In the relaxation department, stops at the beaches of Lésigny-sur-Creuse, Bonneuil-Matours or even Châtellerault prove refreshing!
In the fun department, treasure hunts Terra Aventura intend to punctuate the loop in Cenon-sur-Vienne, Angles-sur-l'Anglin, Vicq-sur-Gartempe, La Roche-Posay, Saint-Rémy-sur-Creuse, Scorbé-Clairvault and Châtellerault.
Au Cenon mini-port, adventurers park their bikes to board an electric boat. Captain and sailors hold the helm and navigate in complete autonomy.

2 Canoe weekend
Descent on the Vienne, from Châtellerault to Les Ormes
To glide on the peaceful waters of the river for 15 to 20 kilometers, rowers start by renting a boat from the CSAD, the Châtellerault canoe-kayak club. Start of the Promenade des Acadians.
This river escape is an opportunity to explore an unsuspected heritage from land, to come face to face with a beaver, an otter or even a kingfisher...
Swimming and fishing enthusiasts will have a blast during the stopovers.

Upstream and downstream of the Manufacture de Châtellerault dam, the landscape is enchanting. In Antran, the pier looks like a secret lair. That of Ingrandes-sur-Vienne stands out as a true natural observatory of rich and wild flora and fauna. And at Dangé-Saint-Romain, the bivouac is rewarded by the clear view of the bridge.
At picnic time, paddlers settle down at the water's edge, in a dream spot with a view of the church, the wash house and the turret of the Château des Ormes. Spoiler alert: the sunsets over the Vienne are magical.

After one evening under the stars and night in a treehouse, the micro-adventurer trades his canoe for one bike at the Vélibleu station from Dange-Saint-Romain. The return to Châtellerault is via the route of the Scandibérique, French part of EuroVélo 3, with a rural break at Gros Caillou Lake in Ingrandes.

3 Itinerant horseback ride
The ride in secret Poitou
From Châtellerault, the TAC bus line 24 takes the curious to La Roche-Posay. It is in this medieval spa town that the master hiker of the Mill Cavalry finds them for a getaway away from civilization. Only the song of birds and the clicking of hooves resonate...
The first stage at Vicq-sur-Gartempe leaves an unforgettable memory thanks to the river crossing. The sun's rays sparkle on the surface; the horses are happy to cool off. The boots are splashed. A concentrate of emotions!

A horseback ride allows you to gain perspective, get to know yourself and become an accomplice with the animal.
Throughout the circuit, castles are revealed. The passages in the forest and the hilly circuits end up breaking the daily routine. The authentic and wild countryside can be tamed. Sometimes you have to bend down to pass under the branches. When the terrain allows it, riders try trotting or galloping. It's exhilarating!
Meals are taken at the foot of the most beautiful monuments or at the water's edge. Of course, we don't sleep more than one night in the same place.
We bet that this outdoor horse riding experience in the Châtelleraudaise pampas will reveal the adventurer in you...
