With summer just around the corner and the month of June heating up, we've put together a few ideas for outings to make the most of the fine weather and the tourist attractions!
1 - Sailing in a mini boat!
What if you improvised yourself as a sailor for an afternoon? That's what the mini port at Cenon-sur-Vienne has to offer every weekend in June and every afternoon during the summer!
2 - A new character to discover
Perhaps you can already guess what's behind it? Yes, it's the new Tèrra Aventura in Vicq-sur-Gartempe! Take advantage of this fun, interactive treasure hunt to visit the charming village of Vicq! Available from 24 June.
3 - From tree to tree
Discover what's new at the Aven'Thuré accrobranche course, with 8 courses over 4 hectares of forest, an orienteering game and 37 zip lines! The park is open every weekend in June and every day in summer (except Tuesdays).
4 - Refresh in complete safety
During your adventures, you may want to take a swim in complete safety! Here's the list of swimming spots: Lac de Châtellerault: supervised swimming from 1 June to 31 August from 2pm to 7pm, 7 days a week Parc de Crémault in Bonneuil-Matours: supervised swimming from 1 July every afternoon from 2pm to 7pm Rivière de Lésigny-sur-Creuse: supervised swimming from 8 July to 2 September from 2pm to 7pm, 7 days a week Lac de Saint-Cyr: supervised swimming on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays in June from 10am to 6pm. Free for children under 5, €1 for children aged 5 to 12, €3 for adults (€2 from 5pm) and €2 for students, secondary school pupils, disabled people and jobseekers (€1 from 5pm).
5 - Family fun at Château de Monthoiron
The château offers two superb accessible trails for the youngest visitors, giving them the chance to play in the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci, and for the more playful visitors to discover the unusual world of LEGO® in the heart of the estate's forest. Open every weekend in June and every day in summer!
6 - Monthoiron and its thousand secrets
Are you in Monthoiron? Why not take the opportunity to discover Les Humachaï and the curse of the invisible flower? With the help of your rucksack, you'll have to solve the town's mystery. Available all year round.
7 - Adding a story to your outings
The village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin, designated one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, is home to an exceptional prehistoric site: a 20-metre sculpted frieze. It's a great opportunity to discover its treasures with the whole family and go back in time 15,000 years! The site is open in June from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 6.00pm (closed on Mondays) and every day in summer from 10.00am to 7.00pm.
8 - Boarding the Jehan Martin
This traditional boat and its captain offer guided tours on the Vienne. Close to the cool of the water, you'll discover the exceptional landscape from the river!
9 - An Acadian year
To mark the 250th anniversary of the return of the Acadians to Poitou, the Archigny Heritage Association and the Cousins Acadiens are temporarily opening a museum in Acadian Farm No. 6. Open every Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 6.30pm from 2 June to 17 September + 15 August 2023. Immerse yourself in the Acadian world with the following events: - on 24 June, Claudine Pauly will give a talk on "the Marquis de Pérusse des Cars, protector of the Acadians" + Françoise Glain will present "the life of the Acadians on the Line" - on 25 June : market organised by the municipality - 2 July: "Furgeacadie" reading of poems about Acadia by Henri Furgé and songs about Acadia by Annette and Jean-Claude Cardinaux - 22 July, showing of the film l'odyssée acadienne by Alain Normand.
