20 kilometers to the southeast of Châtellerault, village of Archigny shines thanks to its heritage witness to the Great History and to small stories that have become legends. On the tour n°5, you will discover that of the “source to the eyes” whose water, limpid and clear, is said to have healing properties. In any case, this is what has been said since a farmer washed the eyes of his sick cow there and the latter was cured!
The departure takes place at the back of the Romanesque church where an information panel celebrates the main hikes leaving from the town. Very quickly, a first plant tunnel announces the color. The atmosphere will be rural for this essentially rural excursion, punctuated by interludes in the undergrowth.
In order to walk peacefully through “Le Petit Souper”, it is recommended to equip yourself with good walking shoes and to prefer pants to shorts.
On the program: the conquest of the west of Archigny, from north to south.
Gently but surely hilly, technical on certain sections, the route is certified by the French Hiking Federation.
Over the 12 kilometers of stroll, the Archigny countryside reveals its wild side. Far from the urban bustle and the worries of everyday life, the walker breathes, recharges his batteries and savors the tranquility of this “Little Supper”.
On the paths, the walker comes across several hamlets, crosses cheerful streams of water via small bridges and escapes by contemplating some viewpoints over the Ozon valley.
High point of the route: the spectacular and refreshing arrival at the lake. Decorated with an arboretum and equipped with picnic tables, the place is ideal for a relaxing and gourmet break. As the adage recommends: after the effort, comfort!
